Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in TV and film is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole child of Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra began her professional career in the show business at an early age. At the age of 16, she turned 16, Alexandra had landed leading roles in several TV dramas. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra worked on several notable national and international projects over the years. They comprise British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as well as French historical miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
